Busy Schedule For “Busy Bee”

By Gilbert Munetsi

World boxing champion Charles Manyuchi “Busy Bee” has a busy schedule that begins this week with a tour of the resort town of Kariba.

The three-day break, courtesy of Nyaradzo, will see the iconic pugilist help market Kariba as an ideal tourist destination through the sports tourism initiative.

Kariba is renowned for such packages as game drives, the crocodile farm, the Kapenta farm, boat cruises and the University of Zimbabwe research station among others.

On September 23, the WBF, WABA and WPBF world  titles holder will be at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair upon the invitation of the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to officially open the trade convergence on the very day.

And as has been the tradition each year, Manyuchi will on September 30 visit an orphanage in Mutoko, Mother of Peace, to donate some foodstuffs to the institution.

Mother of Peace is situated a few kilometres from Mutoko Centre and is in close proximity to Mudzi district where Manyuchi was raised and went to school.

He told Nhau that he will be donating mealie meal, a product of his maize harvest from last year, chickens, and a cow among other goodies.

Manyuchi will wind up his itinerary by hosting a boot camp at Nyanda Lodge in Masvingo.

The boot camp will be conducted in partnership with his sponsors who include Regency Hotels, Phil-Jen Country Lodges, Magestics, Nyaradzo and Mr T-35. Nhau/Indaba
