Dembo Comparisons Unfair: Tendai

Tendai Dembo says no one will ever fill their late father’s shoes since he was in a league of his own.

His father Leonard Dembo died on April 9 1996 aged 37.

And twenty-five years after his death, Dembo’s music is still as soothing as ever.

However, there has been a raging debate over the years that the departed legend’s impressive music empire would crumble if Tendai  and Morgen continue stuttering.

Tendai finally cleared the debate on the sidelines of his late father’s tombstone unveiling held over the weekend in Chirumanzu.

“I have said it before  and I will repeat it that no one will ever come close or fill the big shoes he left.

“As sons of the late music legend, we are doing our best but the sad reality is that people want to make comparisons and they will always be there.

“I feel is grossly unfair to compare us to our late father because he was in a league of his own,” he said.

Tendai said he was trying his best to ensure that fans are not starved of new music.

“In my case, I have been recording and releasing music constantly.

“It has always been my wish to ensure that the market is not starved.

“However, negative media reports have badly affected us as the attention has shifted to the said shenanigans rather than our music.

“It is my hope that people will accept our music with time but we are working hard to ensure that we are not caught off side,” he said.

He also brought to sleep the debate of bad blood between him  and Morgen.

“It’s sad that people like creating fictitious stories but the truth of the matter is that I and my brother we are cool and best friends.

“In family set ups, squabbles are there but we always find each other and we have never fought.

“Morgen has always been there for me and I will do the same because we were raised in unique way by our parents,” he said.

He however ruled out chances of them forming a tag team as anticipated by fans.

“We have worked together before but right now for growth’s sake, we have gone separate ways.

“Fans should know that we are different people altogether pursuing different goals so it will not be easy for us to do what they want.

“What is important at the moment is that people should be happy that at least we are doing something to keep our father’s music alive.

“Fans should always rejoice  and be merry that at least we have decided to pursue music  and they need to be patient until we get there,” he added. H-Metro
