Top 10 fragrance options for Christmas gifts

It’s that time of the year again when we get to gear up for the Christmas holidays.
While 2020 has probably been the most dreadful year this past decade, that does not mean we should forward to the festive season. Things might be hard for many, but as the year comes to an end, there is an opportunity to put a smile on someone’s face. A Christmas present usually does the trick.
While gift ideas are vast (I want a PS5), we just decided to list 10 fragrances which we think would make great Christmas presents.

J’Adore Infinissime
J’Adore Infinissime by Christian Dior is an Oriental Floral fragrance for women. This is a 2020 release so there is a high probability that the person you are buying it for has never come across this particular scent. The nose behind this fragrance is Francois Demachy. Top notes are Blood Orange, Bergamot and Pink Pepper; middle notes are Tuberose, Jasmine Sambac, Ylang-Ylang, Lily-of-the-Valley and Rose; base note is Sandalwood.
Experience an unfurling of flowers in the sensual, enveloping scent of J‘adore Eau de Parfum Infinissime. Centifolia rose, jasmine, ylang ylang, and lily of the valley are refined by woody accents of creamy sandalwood and intensified by a plush, seductive tuberose.

L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense
L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense by Givenchy is an Oriental Floral fragrance for women. This fragrance was also launched this year. What better way to gift someone with one of the recent releases from one of the top fragrance creators in the world.
The famous L’Interdit edition from Givenchy, first launched in 1957, was successfully revamped and modernized in 2018, and shortly became very popular on the market. The 2018 edition was followed up by other unique releases with the recent one being the loudest one at the moment.
The opening notes of the newest L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense edition are cold, sharp and spicy. The black peppery start leads us to a blend of narcotic tuberose and orange blossom, supported with the piquant and smokey aromas of roasted black sesame. The base is woody and earthy, due to vetiver and patchouli, combined with leathery Madagascar vanilla that ensures an intense oriental layer to highlight the flowers.
L’Interdit Eau de Parfum Intense was created by Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Fanny Bal. Top note is Black Pepper; middle notes are Tuberose, Sesame and Orange Blossom; base notes are Madagascar Vanilla, Patchouli and Vetiver.

Gentleman Eau de Parfum Boisée
Gentleman Eau de Parfum Boisée by Givenchy is a Woody Spicy fragrance for men. Released this year, this will be a good edition to any collection for those who are fans of the line.
The olfactory encounter begins with the spicy contrast of black pepper and coriander followed by a warm embrace between the addictive notes of cocoa and the sophisticated elegance of iris. The sensory experience is enhanced by the woody notes of sandalwood and an oriental accord.
The new Eau de Parfum Boisée has been described as a woody scent for the most sensual gentlemen whose appeal comes from both his strength and his softness—a surprising contrast that is reflected in his fragrance.
Top notes are Black Pepper, Geranium and Coriander; middle notes are iris, Cacao Pod and Cedar; base notes are Sandalwood, Woodsy Notes and Patchouli.

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille Eau de Parfum
Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford is an Oriental Spicy fragrance for women and men. While this is not a new release as it first came out in 2007, the scent is just divine and can easily compete among most hyped fragrances from recent years. Don’t be fooled by the release date, this fragrance will certainly make a great gift despite the steep price tag.
Tobacco Vanille has been described as opulent, warm, and iconic. Reminiscent of an English gentleman’s club and blended with rich spices, vanilla, and tobacco flower, it leaves a powerful impression.
The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Gillotin.

Ultra Male by Jean Paul Gaultier
Ultra Male by Jean Paul Gaultier is an Oriental Fougere fragrance for men. Ultra Male was launched in 2015.
The fragrance is a reinterpretation or enhanced version of the popular original Le Male from 1995. Ultra Male, announced as masculine, intense, seductive and at the same time delicate, is supposedly built on contrasts notes and is a spicier version of the original.
It opens with citrus notes of bergamot, along with juicy pear, black lavender and mint. The heart includes spices of cumin and cinnamon, with aromatic clary sage. The base consists of black vanilla, amber and woods.
The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian. Top notes are Pear, Lavender, Mint, Bergamot and Lemon; middle notes are Cinnamon, Caraway and Clary Sage; base notes are Black Vanilla Husk, Amber, Patchouli and Cedar.

Pegasus by Parfums de Marly
Pegasus by Parfums de Marly is an Oriental Fougere fragrance for men. Pegasus was launched in 2011.
Both powdery and fresh, Pegasus stands out for its classic structure of fern warmed by vanilla and creamy almond suffused with a veil of sandalwood. An intense and vibrant fragrance which has become a must-have.
Top notes are Heliotrope, Cumin and Bergamot; middle notes are Bitter Almond, Lavender and Jasmine; base notes are Vanilla, Sandalwood and Amber.

Versace Dylan Blue
Versace Pour Homme Dylan Blue by Versace is an Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. Versace Pour Homme Dylan Blue was launched in 2016 and the nose behind this fragrance is Alberto Morillas.
A strong, masculine fragrance, Dylan Blue encapsulates the sensual scents of the Mediterranean. The fragrance bold ambrox notes, refreshed with hints of bergamot and grapefruit. The earthy and citrusy olfactory notes are enveloped with black pepper, papyrus wood and incense, along with mineral musk, tonka beans and saffron. Versace Eros Flame, is a flanker to the original masculine Eros from 2012. While the pillar is an aromatic-fougère, the new scent goes into a totally different direction with citrusy, spicy, woody, and ambery accords, described as ‘cold and hot, sweet and spicy, light and shadow.’
The concept is based on an interpretation of passionate love, marketed as a fragrance for a ‘strong, passionate, self-confident man who is deeply in touch with his emotions.’

Club de Nuit
Club de Nuit Intense Man by Armaf is a Woody Spicy fragrance for men. Club de Nuit Intense Man was launched in 2015.
This fragrance has been closely associated with its more expensive counterpart, Aventus Creed, and for good reason too. Despite their differing price tags, the scents certainly seen to move in the same vein, they are almost similar.
A sophisticated masculine fragrance with bold tones of citrus, wood and spice. Club De Nuit Intense Man invites a fresh head of lemon, bergamot, pineapple, apple and blackcurrant. The heart features distinctive elements of birch, rose and jasmine. A final accord combines ambergris, musk, vanilla and patchouli.
