Mashonaland Central Gets Ambulances

Bindura Bureau

Hospitals in Mashonaland Central received a shot in arm after the Ministry of Health and Child Care availed and handed over four state-of-the-art Toyota Land Cruiser ambulances last Thursday.

The ambulances were unveiled by Mashonaland Central Minister of State and Devolution, Senator Monica Mavhunga in Bindura.

Minister Monica Mavhunga expressed her gratitude for the government’s gesture as she unveiled the ambulances.

She said establishment of government run hospitals in these districts was underway while expecting the mortality rate in Mbire and Muzarabani to reduce since patients can now access health services on time.

Four more ambulances for the remaining districts are also expected soon.

Mashonaland Central Medical Director, Dr. Cremence Chuma welcomed the gesture and said the ambulances will be handed over to Muzarabani, Mbire, Guruve and Mazowe districts.

“This is because these districts do not have the ambulances at present.

“The ambulances will go a long way in saving people’s lives there.

A lot of people have been dying in these districts because there are no government hospitals,” he said.

Dr. Chuma also appealed for the availing of more ambulances for Bindura Provincial Hospital and urged government to include the hospital in its next budget. Nhau/Indaba
