Job Sikhala Convicted Again

Former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala has been convicted again on a charge of publishing falsehoods prejudicial to the State on his Facebook page.

Harare magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka found him guilty of a 2021 tweet alleging that police had killed an infant strapped to its mother’s back with a baton while trying to enforce lock-down rules in Harare.

He now awaits sentencing.

The conviction comes in the back drop of another conviction which saw him sentenced to a two year jail term which was wholly suspended on charges of inciting violent clashes that broke out in Chitungwiza’s Nyatsime area in June 2022.

This followed the gruesome murder of CCC activist Moreblessing Ali by jailed Pius Jamba, a suspected Zanu PF activist on May 24, 2022. Nhau/Indaba
