Scenes of uncollected garbage and dumpsites are becoming a common sight in Bindura where the council appears to have neglected its stakeholders through poor service delivery.
This is despite claims by Mayor Brian Kembo that they have two trucks that are going door to door everyday collecting waste from all locations.
Mayor Kembo also claims that their trucks also collect waste from the illegal dumping sites once every week.

The illegal dumping sites were allegedly established by the council during the COVID-19 induced lockdown era of 2020 -21 as they bemoaned lack of manpower.
It is reported that during the period they would clear the dumping sites after every seven days but this is no longer the norm.
However, Mayor Kembo turned the poor service delivery blame on ratepayers he accused of being reluctant to pay for services.
He said the council wished ratepayers were paying their service charges religiously as the little they were getting from those that pay was being overwhelmed.
He said council is owed in excess of Z$532 million in unpaid rates by ratepayers.
A resident who spoke to Nhau/Indaba during a survey around the town said council was neglecting them.
“Why are we paying for our service bills every month only to get this kind of service?” queried one Chiwaridzo resident who preferred anonymity.
Meanwhile, the Environmental Management Agency (EMA) has called for residents to be responsible enough by avoiding littering the town.
He also urged the local authorities to play their part to keep the town’s environment clean.
“It is every resident’s responsibility to take care of the environment. We are encouraging everyone to be smart and avoid littering the environment.”
“We are also encouraging council to play their part,” said EMA provincial publicist Maxwell Mupotsa Wednesday. Nhau/Indaba
