Dynamos Owner’s Son Suspended After Holding Players Hostage

Dynamos Football Club have suspended kit manager Harry Lusengo, son of club owner Bernard Marriott Lusengo, with immediate effect following Thursday’s dramatic incident at the team’s Belvedere training ground.

In a media statement, the club confirmed that Lusengo, who is part of the technical support staff has been barred from conducting any business related to the team after what it described as an “uncalled for and inappropriate” episode.

“The incident, which was uncalled for and inappropriate, has seen the club taking the necessary measures to rein in the individual who has, with immediate effect, been suspended from conducting any business related to the team,” Dynamos said.

The club also moved to reassure its supporters and stakeholders that the situation was now under control and that measures had been put in place to avoid a repeat.

The suspension follows shocking scenes earlier in the day when Lusengo allegedly blocked the team bus from leaving the Christ Ministries training base. Witnesses said he parked his private vehicle at the gate, forcing players to disembark and walk to the main road in search of public transport.

“He is visibly high and wouldn’t listen to anyone,” a source said as players were seen walking away from the bus.

The incident, which left players and officials frustrated, raised fresh concerns about discipline and professionalism within the Glamour Boys’ camp.

Dynamos however insist the focus remains on football, with preparations continuing for their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League home clash against GreenFuel at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 3pm).
