Dwayne Johnson Had The Sweetest Surprise For Students With Disabilities

Movie star Dwayne Johnson, also known as “The Rock,” is among the highest-paid actors. This is evidenced by the number of times he has topped Forbes’ Rich List.

Two years ago, he earned an estimated £63m from his Netflix movie, “Red Notice,” and his Under Armor Fitness clothing line, “Project Rock.”

However, one thing is known about him; his inability to keep his wealth to himself. The actor has launched several charitable and philanthropic movements over the years. Even recently, he surprised disabled students with a heartfelt video as part of the P.A.C.T.S program.

Recently, Johnson was invited to attend Ohio’s Parma City School District P.A.C.T.S program, which returned after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

According to the school’s website, P.A C.T.S is a “dynamic employment and life-skill training program for students with multiple disabilities. The goal of the P.A.C.T.S. program is to promote independence in the home, community and integrated employment setting.”

Although The Rock could not attend, he sent a video clip to surprise the kids.

“This message goes out to all of my friends — all the P.A.C.T.S. students at Parma High School,” the “Moana” voice actor began.

“Guys, I want to thank you so much for the amazing invitation you sent me to come to the luau 2022, the comeback! Thank you guys so much. I saw the video [you made to invite me with] — I know you guys were trying really hard, and I loved it. I loved the video. I loved everybody’s performances, and you are so cool and talented.”

Although he regretted that he couldn’t be there in person, he added that he was “in spirit and love.”

He concluded, “I want you guys to have the best time. I know you guys have been raising funds for this amazing fundraiser all year, and I wish you the best of luck.”

The “Jungle Cruise” actor also shared that “the best part of all the information that I heard about you guys, the best part, is that all of you students have the most gigantic hearts.”

He added, “And that means something to me — that you have the biggest hearts in the world. It shows — I can tell and feel it all the way here.”

In his video clip, Johnson gave a shout-out to all student organizations, including the National Honor Society.

“I also want to take a moment to shout out to all the incredible student peers, the volunteers from the student council and the National Honor Society.”

He added, “And why the National Honor Society is so appropriate right now is because I, yours truly, was once never part of the National Honor Society. Because you guys are way smarter than I am.”

He concluded, “I love you guys. Have an amazing event. And before I go, I want to shout out to all the teachers and volunteers for making this happen, especially Katie, Erin and Marie.”

The Students Recreated Johnson’s Iconic Roles

This heartfelt video clip comes after the school shared footage of the students recreating Johnson’s iconic roles, asking him to come for the upcoming luau.

According to the special education teacher Katie Vento, who works in the P.A.C.T.S program, they began having luau’s [a special Hawaiian party] 15 years ago to celebrate the students’ accomplishments and achievements over the years.

The students shared videos with Johnson to get his attention to attend the luau.

According to Vento, “Dwayne was so moved by this video and the personal story of these students that while he could not attend in person due to his production schedule, he knew he wanted to do something special.”

Following the video clip, the actor also shared outfits from his clothing line and partnered with Microsoft to give the students the new Xbox console with special adaptive controllers. In addition, he added unlimited games for a year for each student.

Johnson Shared That Surprises ‘Are The Best Part Of His Job’

As the actor posted the clip on his Twitter, he added that surprises like this would be the best part of his job.

“Doing stuff like this will always be the best part of my job. I recently caught wind of a very special invitation from some students at Parma Sr. High School – and I had to deliver for these incredible kids.”

Johnson has a long list of charities he supports, including the I Have a Dream Foundation, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Parkinson Society Maritime Region, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Red Cross, and Until There’s A Cure, amongst others. The Blast
