Elephants Destroy House, “Steal” Bag Of Maize

A herd of hungry elephants “broke” into a house in Mahombekombe Township, Kariba yesterday.

After several attempts, the enormous beasts realised they could not fit through the door. The alternative was to break in through one side of the wall.

As the elephants invaded the place, two children who were sleeping in the house managed to flee. Fortunately they escaped unharmed.

The elephants then proceeded to steal a bag of maize and left.

Meanwhile, another person was attacked by a hippo in Batonga township and was taken to hospital. Nhau/Indaba
