A 52-year-old man has been dragged to court for allegedly teaming up with two accomplices still at large to create a fake agreement of sale for an industrial stand where they intended to defraud a client of millions in Bindura, Nhau/Indaba has had.
Prosecutor Sheilla Maribha told the court that Christopher Mutoriro and his accomplice still at large allegedly created a false agreement of sale for an industrial stand at the Bindura Town Clerk Housing Department.
This was on an unknown date between June 2022 and November 11, 2022.
The agreement was for stand number 2119 Light Industrial area in the town.
Mutoriro and his accomplices Rosemary Mafuta and Kelvin Ngodo were mentioned as the sellers of the said land while Simon Konono is identified as the purchaser of the stand.
Armed with the fake agreement of sale, Mutoriro and his accomplices presented it to Municipality of Bindura who acting on the misrepresentation initiated the process of change of ownership between the aforementioned sellers and purchaser.
In so doing, Mutoriro intended to defraud the Estate of Konono Konono of the said stand.
When the anomaly was discovered, a report was made to the police leading to Mutoriro’s arrest.
He was found in possession of date stamps which were used in trying to authenticate the dubious agreement of sale.
The land was valued at ZW$58 140 000-00.
