Bulawayo’s nightlife scene is set to heat up with the grand opening of Hollies Nightclub at Cecil Hotel on Thursday, June 26, promising a thrilling evening of music, dance, and entertainment.
Originally established in Harare in the 1980s, Hollies Nightclub earned a reputation as a vibrant nightlife hotspot. Now, decades later, the brand is expanding west with a new branch in the heart of Bulawayo. For the launch, organisers have lined up over 20 DJs and a live performance by Band Fusion, one of the city’s most in-demand live acts.

The DJ roster for the launch night is packed with some of the hottest names in the local scene, including DJ Slim Motion, Risk09, Retro, Ayax, Mjava, Smokey Ae, Yung Shakes, Tonic Music, and Secxy_Da_DJ. The DJs will keep partygoers on their feet with a mix of house, dancehall, hip-hop, and Afro beats until the early hours.
Speaking ahead of the big night, the club’s manager said the new venue brings with it the energy and allure that defined the original Hollies in Harare. “The Bulawayo Hollies Nightclub has come equipped with all the nice things that made Hollies Harare famous, including the girls,” he said.
The launch marks yet another boost to Cecil Hotel’s transformation into a full-fledged entertainment complex. The hotel already houses Private Lounge, a popular gentlemen’s club in the basement, along with Mapiko, HBC Gardens, and Origins Sports Bar.
With the addition of Hollies Nightclub, Cecil Hotel aims to offer a one-stop entertainment and hospitality destination in the city. “We are creating an ecosystem where guests can dine, drink, dance, and unwind — all within one location,” the manager added.
As Bulawayo continues to reassert itself as Zimbabwe’s cultural capital, the arrival of Hollies signals a bold investment in the city’s nightlife. Party lovers are expected to flock to the launch, drawn by the star-studded DJ line-up and the reputation Hollies has built over decades.
For those who enjoy high-energy nights and eclectic entertainment, Thursday’s launch is shaping up to be a night to remember. Nhau/Indaba
