Police have arrested Pius Jamba ,the chief suspect in the killing of Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activist Moreblessing Ali.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested accused Pius Jamba this morning in connection with the callous murder of Moreblessing Ali.
A detailed statement will be released during the course of the day,” a short statement on the official ZRP Twitter handle says.
Ali’s gruesome murder raised political tensions that resulted in clashes between Zanu PF and CCC supporters leaving a trail of destruction in Chitungwiza’s Nyatsime area Monday night.
As a result, police arrested CCC’s Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala and Chitungwiza North legislator Godfrey Sithole who spent their second night in police custody yesterday.
They are facing charges of inciting public violence. Nhau/Indaba
