NetOne Launches 11th Telemedicine Booth in Bulilima

NetOne launched its 11th telemedicine booth in Bulilima, a move that underscores the company’s commitment to bridging the healthcare gap in rural areas through digital innovation.

The booth was unveiled on October 26, 2025, in a ceremony attended by over 1,000 community members and high-profile government officials, including Deputy Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Honourable Dingumuzi Phuthi.

The launch is part of NetOne’s broader strategy to foster inclusive healthcare and digital inclusion, aligning with the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and Vision 2030.

Speaking on behalf of NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Raphael Mushanawani, NetOne Public Relations Manager, Mr. Ernest Magadzire, highlighted the company’s role in driving national development under Mushanawani’s leadership.

“This is a testament to NetOne’s commitment to translating national policies into tangible community projects,” Mr. Magadzire said, emphasizing the company’s strategic alignment with the government’s vision.

The event drew notable figures, including Minister of Commerce and Industry, Honourable Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, and Member of the Politburo Committee, Mr. Richard Ndlovu. The First Lady, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, was acknowledged for her role as Ambassador for Health and champion of the national telemedicine initiative.

Partners in the project, ZimSmart Village, led by Dr. Jokwiro, were commended for their technical expertise. Dr. Jokwiro encouraged men in the community to use the facility to improve their health-seeking behaviors.

Alderman Land Ndebele of the Bulilima Rural District Council expressed gratitude for the investment, urging the community to make the most of the facility. “This gesture by NetOne is a lifeline for our community,” he said.

The launch of the Bulilima telemedicine booth is the latest milestone in NetOne’s efforts to leverage technology for social good, further cementing its role as a key player in Zimbabwe’s development agenda.
