Prize for raunchy dance challenge

Zim dancehall artist Dean Chikotora, better known as Dflexx, has made a massive comeback with potential hit song, Tamba Tione, which has taken not just the airwaves but the internet by storm.

Like all runaway hits, Tamba Tione, has already attracted social media’s meme makers and triggered a dance challenge.

Released a fortnight ago, the song is accompanied by a daring, edge-of-the-seat video, uploaded to video sharing site, YouTube. The song itself sits on number eight on the Power FM charts.

Speaking to Nhau, the Tsaona hit-maker, who has been impressed by video clips his team has received so far from fans, said they have decided to give away some money and goodies to the most popular dance challenge video.
“Though the challenge is still in its infancy, we have received a lot of clips. So we have decided to make it epic and give away prizes,” said Dflexx.

“We have also been pleasantly surprised by corporate support we have attracted. So now we are just finalising the sponsorship on this challenge,” he said.

He added that the challenge is also a big way of promoting the song.
“This is a big tune so we want promote it in a unique way,” he said.
He said people should see music as a unifier and the Tamba Tione dance challenge, which has gone viral, as just another way of pushing the Zim dancehall culture.

Emerging almost from nowhere around 2010 – Dflexx is among a select few Zim dancehall artists who continue to push the boundaries of art.
He has released more than 30 singles and does not seem like he will be quitting the game any time soon. Nhau/Indaba
