Upcoming ‘Bledo Beatz’ Rocks Hwange

“Music is not just child’s play but I live in music,” says upcoming producer Blessed Dube (19) who ventured into music at a tender age.

Popularly known as Bledo Beatz, Dube began playing the keyboard at his father’s church in Hwange from the age of four.

“I loved music and the passion grew stronger when I was growing older. From playing in my father’s church, I started to create my own rhythms using the keyboard.

The slim young man who plays any song with his eyes closed has mastered the art of music to the extent of investing on music production equipment. He does all his music production at Number 1 Village in Hwange where he has attracted a number of upcoming artists.

“I have produced over 200 songs and about 50 of the songs are well known in Matebeleleland North as some are played on the local radio stations,” says Bledo Beatz.

Bledo completed his Ordinary Level in 2020, and due to his strong Christian background, was hooked into producing gospel music. He has since diversified to other genres and appreciates the opportunity his pastor father gave to pursue his talent in music.

“I started producing gospel songs, but now I produce a variety of music genres such as Afrobeat, Amapiano as well as Dancehall just to mention a few.”

“I really appreciate my father who finally believes in what I do. He was a bit skeptical at first but now I have his full support. He later realised that music to me was not just child’s play, but it’s a passion I live for,” he said

The young producer is studying music online with a South African college (SAE Institute) and laments that his small home studio is now being overwhelmed.

“Since I have turned my home into a studio and called it MJP studios, I have a manager who is working towards establishing a bigger studio,” he said.

Bledo Beatz has produced a number of music for upcoming artists in Hwange including Minister Judith Mudimba’s Kulinduwe, Bishop Masiyambiri’s first album ‘Hamukundikane’ and ‘I don’t Keya’ by Jah Maps. Indaba
