ZERA Lowers ZiG Fuel Prices, USD Rates Unchanged

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has trimmed local currency fuel prices, with the latest review taking effect from 8 August until 4 September 2025.

According to the regulator, diesel 50 will now retail at ZWG41.40 per litre, down from ZWG41.63, while blend (E20) has dropped from ZWG42.04 to ZWG41.68 per litre.

US dollar pump prices remain unchanged — diesel 50 stays at US$1.55 per litre and blend (E20) at US$1.56.

ZERA said the blending ratio remains at E20, meaning 20% ethanol mixed with petrol. The ethanol used is anhydrous, containing less than one percent water, in line with the country’s compulsory blending policy introduced in 2011 to promote biofuels.

Fuel operators are allowed to charge less than the prescribed prices if their business model allows, but must display prices clearly at service stations as required by law.
