Bigwigs Fall In Zanu PF Mash Central Primaries


As results of the Zanu PF primary elections conducted countrywide over the weekend trickle in, reports say over 10 top bigwigs beat the dust out of 18 constituencies making up the province.

The primaries were held Saturday overlapping into mid-morning Sunday as members in some areas had to cast their ballots late due to logistical flaws.

Incumbent Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Senator Monica Mavhunga reportedly fell by the wayside in Bindura-Shamva where she was vying for the Senate representative’s seat against former State Security minister Nicholas Goche.

Other legislators who reportedly lost their seats include Campion Mugweni (Mazowe North), Girovah Dzapasi (Guruve North), sacked Energy minister and politburo member Fortune Chasi (Mazowe), Bramwell Seremwe (Mt Darwin West), Novert Muponora Mt Darwin North, Norman Marikisi (Mt Darwin East), Bramwell Bushu (Shamva South), Size Muzarabani South Kabozo Mt Darwin East, Chidamba Mazowe Central.

However, Kenneth Musanhi (Bindura North), Kazembe Kazembe (Mazowe West), Zhemu Soda (Muzarabani North), Douglas Karoro (Mbire), and Tendai Nyabani (Rushinga) were no pushovers.

Former Education minister Lazarus Dokora and Dr James Makamba are reporetd to have won senatorial seats in Rushinga and Mt Darwin respectively.

Former Shamva South legislator (2013 -18), Joseph Mapiki is the only former parliamentarian reported to have bounced back across the province as Advocate Martin Dinha was sent back to terraces in Mazowe North.
