The Zimbabwe Nurses Association is adamant that nurses are financially incapacitated.
Last week, the Health Services Board (HSB) removed 1 032 nurses from its pay sheets after they refused to resume normal working hours, and disciplinary hearings are starting this week.
They claim that the removal from the payroll is a normal result of industrial action. Nurses will be further tied down using fixed-term contracts if they return as part of a proposed restructuring of the public health sector.
This comes as the Minister Of Health and Child Care Vice President Chiwenga has roped in military health personnel to run public hospitals. Nhau/Indaba
