Bosso Maintain Lead With Win Over Herentals

Log leaders Highlanders consolidated pole position with a 1-0 beating of Herentals College in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 15 clash played at Mandava Stadium this Sunday.

Melikhaya Ncube got the priceless goal for the premiership giants after 28 minutes into the clash.

Bosso, who are yet to taste defeat since the season started, have had a fairy tale campaign under their Brazilian mentor Baltemar Brito this season.

In another clash played at Gibbo on Sunday, Obriel Chirinda scored a hattrick to give Bulawayo Chiefs a 3-0 victory over Triangle.

Chirinda found the target after 34 and 78 minutes.

He would return to haunt the Lowveld side with his third goal on the stroke of full time.

In a match played at Bata Stadium, Black Rhinos surrendered their slender lead to allow Hwange to level the scores and force a 1-1 draw with them.

Allan Gahadzikwa had put the basement side ahead on the stroke of half time.

Rhinos hung on to their advantage for 40 more minutes only to surrender it when they conceded a penalty 85 minutes into the clash.

Hwange skipper Kelly Shiyandindi stepped up to convert the spot kick.

Following Week 15 round of fixtures, Highlanders now top the log standings on 31 points from 15 matches and have opened a four-point buffer from second placed Ngezi Platinum who lost their Week 15 fixture on Saturday.

Manica Diamonds are third on 26 points while Dynamos and defending champions FC Platinum are fourth and fifth respectively with both having amassed 25 points. ZimLive
