Breakthrough In Tapiwa Makore Murder Case

Police have confirmed that body parts recovered from Tapiwa Makore Snr’s toilet and taken for forensic tests, belong to Tapiwa Makore (7), who was gruesomely murdered in September last year.

Tapiwa Makore Snr is the murdered boy’s uncle.

In a statement Wednesday, Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyati said communication has been made with the late Tapiwa Makore’s family in connection with the DNA results, which were conducted by AIBST DNA Testing Centre and National University of Science and Technology (NUST).

“The DNA results showed that the jaw, tooth and limb were a direct match to the torso,” he said.

Nyathi said Police will reveal other details concerning the case once trial proceedings are in place.

Tapiwa was killed in what is now believed to be a ritual murder, after he went missing and was discovered dead with his body dismembered and the head missing.

The tested body parts were recovered end of November last year together with other bones and skulls in a toilet at Tapiwa Makore’s (Snr) homestead, an alleged accomplice in the murder case.

However, the boy’s head is yet to be recovered but his father Munyaradzi Makore has since told the media that they will bury the recovered parts on March 27, 2021 at their Nyamutumbu homestead in Murewa. Nhau/Indaba
