Car Crash Kills MMCZ GM Muzenda

Minerals Marketing Corporation of Zimbabwe General Manager Tongai Muzenda has died aged 57 after being involved in a car accident along Borrowdale road in Harare last night at around 10pm, reports say.

He was the son of the late national hero and former Vice-President Simon Vengai Muzenda.

It is alleged that he lost control of his vehicle which then crashed into an electricity pole.

In 2013, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Service Labour and Social Welfare and held a number of director roles both in Government and in private organisations.
Norton legislator Temba Mliswa said the nation had been robbed of a peacemaker and great man.

“We have been robbed through the loss of Tongai Muzenda. A humble, loving, and honourable man. He didn’t associate himself with his father to take selfish advantage of that. Moyo was a great man who could relate with anyone and everyone.

“My Sekuru was a true Moyo, a peacemaker who was level-headed and passionate about his country…..All his brothers believed in him as he was a unifier,” Mliswa said. Nhau/Indaba
