Fast Food outlet, Chicken Basket has embraced the green energy drive after signing a deal with electric vehicles company Agilitee Africa to deliver its supplies using the company’s electric motorcycles.

In an interview, Agilitee Africa Country Director Mr Tanaka Kutama said:
“We have signed a deal with Chicken Basket to provide them with our electric motorcycles for their deliveries. This is obviously a positive development in terms of embracing green energy. The whole world is embracing electric vehicles so Zimbabwe should not be left behind.

“Electric vehicles are the modern way of doing things, as we slowly but surely continue to say goodbye to the use of petrol and diesel for our vehicles.”

Posting on their social media platforms, Chicken Basket said Agilitee’s electric motorcycles will deliver “straight out of our kitchen to your doorstep.”

In July this year, Agilitee Africa established its distribution outlet in Harare, where it has been trading in several green energy products, including the motorcycles.

Agilitee plans to set up an electric vehicles assembly plant in Zimbabwe to open up value chains by leveraging on availability of lithium, which is used to manufacturer batteries for electric cars. Nhau/Indaba
