Chicken Crave Lands Duo Behind Bars

Bindura Bureau

Bindura magistrate Samantha Dhlamini yesterday remanded two men in custody for allegedly stealing three broiler chickens from Chipadze Farm.

Appearing for the State, Chipo Chinoda told the court that on September 2 this year, the duo comprising of Brian Tanasi (28) and Tadiwanashe Nyakudya (38) stole three broilers belonging to Marshal Kaparamuka (25) of the same farm at around 11.50pm.

She alleged that the duo was identified by Elvis Yanzurani who was awakened by the clucking chickens in Kaparamuka’s fowl run while the two were trying to help themselves out.

Yanzurani allegedly saw Tanasi running from the cage putting one of the broilers under his armpits before raising alarm.

Upon apprehension, he implicated Nyakudya who was caught in the process of dressing one of the broilers at his homestead.

The two will be back on 21 September. Nhau/Indaba
