Chiredzi Councilor Fulfilling Campaign Promises

Zanu PF Councilor for Chiredzi Rural District Ward 32, Aspect Mashingaidze is making great strides towards fulfilling his electoral campaign promises of infrastructural development.

For years, three villages under ward 32, Chipimbi, Nyavasikana and Magumire had one secondary school, one clinic and lacked access to clean water among other challenges which were noted by the Councilor during his campaign in 2018.

Clr Mashingaidze said progress was slowed down by successive Covid-19 lockdowns and the current rain season.

“We have not been able to finish constructing Rusununguko Clinic and other projects due to the recent lockdown and rainy season but we are working towards finishing school toilets by the end of this week,” said Mr Mashingaidze.

To date, there has been notable developments in the area with the plans to establish a police base, 2 secondary schools and 2 clinics.

An additional Rusununguko Clinic and the community centre are already under construction.

According to the Councilor, he recently procured a solar system worth US$7 000-00 in a bid to improve clean water access and sanitation in the area.

“We consulted with the community who sought the establishment of 2 secondary, 2 clinics, a community centre and a police base but for now we are almost completing one clinic (Rusununguko). We also have procured a solar system worth around US $7 000-00 which is waiting for installation.” said Mashingaidze. Nhau/Indaba
