FC Platinum, Dembare & Bosso Win

Football giants Dynamos and Highlanders bounced back to winning ways with sweet victories registered in two Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 12 fixtures played in different parts of the country on Sunday afternoon.

In a match played at the National Sports Stadium, Donald Mudadi’s two long range efforts and an opener by Elton Chakona earned Dynamos an emphatic victory over ZPC Kariba.

Chakona gave Dembare the lead after 22 minutes while Mudadi unleashed a screamer after 44 minutes to double his team’s advantage.

Mudadi hammered the final nail in ZPC Kariba’s coffin with an injury time wonder strike to make it 3 and ignite celebrations on the Dynamos stands.

It was the first win in six matches by the Harare giants who had gone on a five match winless streak which saw them draw four and lose one.

At Barbourfields Stadium, Mbongeni Ndlovu’s headed strike off a Peter Muduhwa cross after 19 minutes was enough to see Highlanders beat neighbours Bulawayo Chiefs and reclaim top spot on the premiership log standings.

Bosso now have 22 points from 12 matches played while Dynamos are just four points behind and are sitting on number 6.

At Gibbo, Panashe Mutimbanyoka’s priceless strike after 59 minutes gave FC Platinum victory against Green Fuel in a match that ended 1-0 for the reigning champions.

At the Colliery, premiership top goal scorer Fortune Binzi needed just four minutes on the field to score for Manica Diamonds who beat Hwange 1-0.

Following the weekend’s round of fixtures, Highlanders sit at the top with 22 points, Chicken Inn are second on 21 while FC Platinum also has the same number of points with Chicken Inn but are third because of an inferior goal difference.

Ngezi Platinum, who have a game in hand lie fourth, and could reclaim top spot if they beat Yadah this Monday afternoon in a delayed Match Day 12 fixture. ZimLive
