First Lady Donates To Grace Mugabe

Auxillia Mnangagwa’s Angel of Hope Foundation has donated an assortment of groceries to Amai Grace Mugabe Children’s Home in Mazowe to avert food shortages at the orphanage.

Mrs Mnangagwa also extended the same help to five other orphanages in the province; SOS Children’s Village, Child Future Africa, Montgomery, Ponesai Vanhu and Kutenda Children’s Home.

Speaking on behalf of the orphanages after receiving their allocations Ms Tiafora Ngwenya said they were happy with the First Lady’s gesture.

“It actually came at the right time when even those who used to assist us are also being affected financially and socially,” said Ms Ngwenya.

She added that having enough food stocks would ensure reduced movements to scrounge for food to feed the orphans as this exposes them to the coronavirus.

Mr George Seremwe, Founding Director Child Future Africa, said he was extremely humbled to get the aid since his coffers are gradually going red.

“Everything at the orphanage is directly sponsored from my businesss in tourism, but business is low. The First Lady has done a good job for me, she has come at the right time,” he said.

The donation consisted of basic household commodities like mealie-meal, cooking oil, sugar, beans and soya chunks. Nhau/Indaba
