Former Mayor Urges Ratepayers To Rehabilitate Roads On Their Own

Former Bindura Mayor Carlos Tokyo has urged Bindura residents to join hands to fill in potholes on roads leading to their homesteads.

Tokyo said road rehabilitation funds provided to the council by ZINARA will never be enough to work on all of the council’s roads. He also called the business community to plough to the community.

“I have been calling for resources from donors in my ward so that we spruce our roads that have been seriously damaged,” he said.

Many roads in Chipadze, Bindura’s oldest suburb are pothole infested, rough and rugged and inaccessible to small vehicles.
A survey around Bindura by this news crew today identified that even roads in the northern splash suburbs are in the same condition.

What used to be a smooth Waterbury Road is now an eroded and forgotten path. Also not to forget are potholes along the Bindura-Shamva highway just before the railway crossing. Nhau/Indaba
