From ‘Urgent Matter’ to ‘Entanglement’, dendera music fans are spoilt for choice this festive season

With Tryson Chimbetu’s Maria or is it Haisati Yapinda (Bonus) hit song off his 2019 album Kana Mazogara reaching anthemic levels more than a year after it was released – life for dendera music fans can only get better.
Three weeks ago, Allan Chimbetu, another dendera music exponent, an uncle to Tryson, unleashed a scorcher.
Titled Urgent Matter, the album was launched live on ZBC-TV and on various other social media platforms – giving it the necessary “urgent” push into the market.
“My comeback into the mainstream music sector was long overdue … This is an urgent matter, something has been missing in Dendera music,” said the only surviving member of the first generation crooners of dendera music.
Allan is an endangered species, he belongs to an esteemed class of founders of the genre. His brothers – Simon (Suluman’s father), Naison (Tryson’s father) and Briam are all late.
Urgent Matter carries 10 tracks – among them Ndisina Mari, Nhodzerai featuring Suluman, Sorry, Kombe sung in Chewa, Tiverengane, Hello and Nyasha Dzinesu featuring Mathias Mhere.
And now, Suluman “Sulu” Chimbetu is unleashing his own product onto the market.
He named it Entanglement.
Not much is known about the album except that it is being dropped onto the market tomorrow, Saturday December 5.
We also know that it will be beamed live on the recently licensed Zimpapers Television Network and several other online TVs.
From the teasers that Sulu and his team have been dropping over several weeks leading up to the release – we also know that award-winning producer, Oskid, was heavily involved in the production.
Coming just a day after Alick Macheso released a single, Zuro Ndizuro, which has gotten people into a semi-festive mood despite the economic challenges and Covid-19 cloud – the album is eagerly awaited. Nhau/Indaba
