House of Stone premieres at SK next week

By Tawanda Matanhire

All is set for the premiere of a local full length movie, House of Stone, at Ster-Kinekor Joina City in Harare on December 18.
Brains behind the one-and-half hour movie, film producer and actor Marc Mandisol, said the production started off as a series but one of the leading stars died.
“We started off as a series and then one of our lead stars passed on in January and we had to reshoot and recast the role,” said Mandisol, adding, “This gave birth to the concept of making it a movie.”
He said they were excited to see the idea come together because they had been testing waters to see if they would achieve a positive outcome.
“The idea was to try and see if a new concept would work in our favour and am happy to say we achieved our goal and the movie is ready for the cinema,” he added.
He revealed that they will also be launching the original series version of House of Stone at the premiere. Mandisol said the movie is earmarked to take part in film festivals around the world in 2021.
In House of Stone, Mandisol makes his debut as an actor playing Mark Mabhena while top theatre actress Erin Stickle plays Collete LeGrange.
The movie also features Ngoni Vere, Bianca Mapfumo, Admire Maramba, Tapuwanashe Arimuzhu and Emma Banhu.
There are special cameos by celebrated screen stars Eddie Sandifilo, Dalma Chiwerewa and Nothando Lobengula.

House of Stone, which faced a number of glitches, which delayed its release last year, was eventually completed earlier this year with local corporates giving a helping hand.
Among the companies that sponsored the movie are Zimoco, Switch Communications, Jack’s Shack International, Kenako Studios, ZBC-TV, Mogul Touch Studios and Prime Time Pictures USA.
