Jah Prayzah To Debut At Victoria Falls Carnival

Zimbabwe’s contemporary music sensation, Mukudzeyi Mukombe popularly known as Jah Prayzah is set to debut at this year’s 11th edition of the Victoria Falls Carnival.

The carnival will set the tourism destination alight from the 28th to the 30th of April.

This follows resumption of the explosive carnival last year after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions that almost crippled the arts and tourism sector.

Together with his Third Generation Band, the talented singer will share the stage with some of the biggest international hit makers comprising of South African house music duo, Black Motion, award-winning South African producer and songwriter Musa Makamu “Musa Keys”, Oskido, Mi Casa and South Africa’s multi-award-winning Afro-pop sensation Mafikizolo.

Other artists to expect at the three-day fiesta include LKG, Toss, Mdoovar, 9umba, Enzo Ishall, Anita Jaxson, Mac G & Sol, Top Cheri, Rimo, Han-C, Khoisan, Tashinga, Nitefreak, Just Drev, DJ Liz, Nospa, Nkosiminator, Renolife, Andrea the Vocalist, Doll Ya Mama, and Mtkayntwana (MC).

The carnival’s general tickets for the first day are selling at US$50, US$65 for a two-day pass is US$65 while a three-day pass will see fans parting with US$90.

For VIP, a three-day pass will cost US$295 including the following:

  • a three-day VIP festival pass
  • access to VIP viewing deck with a private VIP Bar & toilet facilities
  • private pool party slated for Saturday, 29 April
  • sunset cruise (includes drinks and snacks)
  • live performances at Pure Africa on Friday, 28 & Saturday, 29 April
  • private VIP Party with headlining acts on Sunday, 30 April

Meanwhile, the Mudhara Achauya hit-maker today (Thursday) announced the release of two new albums set for Harare and Bulawayo.

The first launch is slated for Harare on May 12 followed by another launch in Bulawayo on May 13.

The singer has produced several hit albums, including Jerusarema (2015), Mudhara Vachauya (2016), Hokoyo (2020) among others.

This Saturday, he is expected to headline the African Explosion fiesta where soukous supremo Koffi Olomide who jetted into the country Thursday afternoon is expected to shut down City of Kadoma’s Odyssey Hotel with his energetic exploits on stage alongside Mafikizolo.

Afro-soul sensation Tamy Moyo, dendera kingpin Suluman Chimbetu and Zim dancehall chanter Enzo Ishall are some of the local performers lined up to spark the gig. Nhau/Indaba
