Let Them Trust, an organisation that runs the annual Schools Arts Festival, has entered into a partnership with Picco Construction.
The two organisations signed an agreement to support the Let Them Village, which is being built in Domboshava.
In a statement announcing the partnership, Chido Musasiwa, the Let Them Trust director said Picco Construction had agreed to extend skilled labour – that is – architects, quantity surveyors, builders and carpenters.
“They will also provide project management services and build one hut for free (labor only),” said Musasiwa, who started Trust in 2010.
The Trust hosts the Let Them Trust Schools Festival, an annual fete for school children from all over Zimbabwe.
And in an effort to continue its valuable interactions with schools and pupils, Let Them Trust secured land in Domboshava where construction of the Let Them Village is underway. “Children will be able to visit as part of organised school trips or for camps during school holidays. The village will be laid out in clusters of huts designed in contemporary and traditional styles from around Zimbabwe.
“The regional variations of each cluster will reflect the artistic and cultural richness of Zimbabwe, showcasing our cultural inheritance. Children will be able to visit as part of organised school trips or for camps during school holidays,” Musasiwa told Nhau.
Let Them Village is also set to provide accommodation and camping facilities specifically tailored for schools, educational activities, youth arts and cultural heritage tours, workshops and retreats.
Let Them Trust is a child-oriented, creative, educational and cultural initiative that aims to create platforms for young people to groom and showcase their artistic talent.
On the other hand, Picco Construction Pvt Ltd is a household name and is amongst the fastest growing construction companies in Zimbabwe, providing construction and civil engineering solutions.
The firm has completed cluster home projects, low and high cost housing, double story villas and road construction works.
They are looking to further expand their influence, with the backing of a young and energetic board, management and pool of experienced young workforce.
Picco Construction has managed to soar through the pandemic to defy all odds and have managed to maintain and to deliver high-quality and cost-effective projects mostly targeting the Diaspora.
Mr Ed Mandizvidza the Sales and Marketing Executive indicated that Picco Construction whose operations continue to grow in leaps and bounds, is on the brink of venturing into the ever-growing virtual community with a builder’s store app that will bring together various suppliers together and building material will be procured and received in the comfort of the customer’s home.
Mr Mandizvidza added that Picco construction is also hugely involved in CSR initiatives including the tree planting programmes, paying for fees for over 100 disadvantaged kids. Nhau/Indaba
