Mai Titi, Andy Muridzo brewing something big

By Tawanda Matanhire

Realising one’s strength and talent is an amazing experience for any artist.
The thrills associated with making it in the cutthroat entertainment and arts industry cannot be traded for anything.

Some have seemingly had it easy, releasing just one production, which instantly becomes a hit song while others have had to work for years to strike gold.

Talk of the legend Oliver Mtukudzi (may his soul rest in peace) or Jah Prayzah, who had to dig deep into their creativity and persevere until they became successful stars and household names in the music industry.

But there are other options, different routes, which have helped artistes achieve their goals by first focusing on one form of art before evolving into another.

Talk of Freddy Manjalima, also known as Kapfupi, who started off doing street theater before making it in the mainstream music arena. Vimbai Zimuto also devised a plan to gain traction by becoming a social media model.

The list is endless.

Nhau recently visited Maselo Studios where apparently a unique production is currently in the oven. Felistas Edwards, better known as Mai Titi, a well-known socialite in Zimbabwe recently ventured into music.

She has worked on several productions releasing a number of singles.
She seems determined to continue as she has just finished working on a collaboration with Andy Muridzo aka Baba Keketso.

“We haven’t given the song a name yet, but if you contact Andy he might have idea on what we are going to name it,” Mai Titi told Nhau.
Baba Keketso could not be reached for comment.

Mai Titi gained entry into the entertainment industry via hilarious and well-crafted skits, making her one of the few women who have made an impact through social media in Zimbabwe.

She draws thousands every time she decides to go live on her social media pages.

Known for her unapologetic character, which has given her a distinct social media identity, Mai Titi is proving that she has something to offer.

Love her or hate her, the woman is determined to go the extra mile. Being groomed and associating with seasoned artistes is not a coincidence – it is all part her grand plan as she has already started getting gigs and being paid top dollar for appearances.

Indeed she has what it takes to become one of Zimbabwe’s musical gems just as she has risen to the top on social media where her life provides entertainment for millions. Nhau/Indaba
