A 25-year-old Guruve man has appeared at the Bindura magistrate court facing allegations of trying to rape his 61-year-old mother.
Prosecuting, Edward Katsvairo told the court that Fact Dire allegedly tried to rape his mother Nester Shereni (61) sometime in September this year.
He said on 3 September, Dire followed his elderly mother to her bedroom at around 7pm under the guise that he wanted to talk to her about some social issues but she refused to let him in.
Dire however persisted that he wanted to talk to her and went on to break the door into her bedroom.
He reportedly grabbed her from behind and tripped her to the bed before covering her face with a pillow.
Katsvairo reported that he then undressed her before undressing himself too.
Dire is said to have tried to mount her but she pulled his testicles in defense leaving him reeling in pain on the floor.
She then fled to her other son, Crincent Dire who lives in the area and they made a police report leading to his arrest.
Magistrate Esteri Chivasa presided over the case and remanded him in custody to 25 November for trial. Nhau/Indaba
