Music Fans Chide Holy Ten For ‘Snake’ Slur On Winky D

By Purity Marungisa

We are just nine days into the ‘month of love’ but the atmosphere in the music industry is exhibiting a different vibe that has caught the attention of fans who love messy beefs between local artists.

Yesterday a video emerged of a podcast interview on ‘The Episode’ where self-proclaimed king of Zimbabwe music, hip hop artist Mukudzeyi Chitsama aka Holy Ten renewed his trashing of Zim dancehall’s greatest musician of all time (GOAT) Winky D.

His tirade ignited a social media firestorm that attracted some high profile users with a huge following and others who suddenly became conscious of the feud after calling the award-winning virtuoso Winky D, “a snake longer than his dreadlocks”.

Fans screamed that he had belittled the experienced Winky while venting out his anger after feeling deceived through what he called a set-up following political attacks from the outcome of their ‘Ibotso’ collabo.

“It can’t have been a set-up, because at the end of the day even the snake, I am going to tell you the man you are talking about is a snake longer than his dreadlocks.”

“Even the serpent did not force that apple on Eve, that became a global disaster, she was partly involved. He spoke and she made a decision,” he said.

Followers of the storm reminded him that Winky D is the GOAT and had way more fans than him.

Award-winning journalist, Hopewell Chin’ono advised Holy Ten to learn from Winky D.

“My brother Holly, stop player hating. Winky D has been doing this music thing for decades, so you might learn something from engaging with him without dissing him.

Winky D is bigger, that is why everyone was happy to see him give you an opportunity to duet! Show some respect,” he tweeted.

In another response, an online publication ‘Phabb Bad Muzik Company’ shared their two cents on their Facebook saying:

“Uku kunonyudza uku Gaffa ukunyatsoriziva here Holy Ten more than 12 years riripa hit imbogaya kuti rinozvigona sei hausi wekutanga kuita zvaurikuda kuita kudonhedza Gaffa bt Winky D DiBigman is not normal like u. U think haapindure ende haite zveSocial media ende haufe wakasangana naye kutumabhawa. Gaffa rine simba mupfanami bvunza vagara varimo MuIndustry vanokutaurira.”

Another Twitter user @Jethro said Holy Ten had lost his position in music circles.

“I hope it’s clear now that HOLY TEN needs clout chasing and beefs to stay relevant. He has honestly lost his position. No sentiments just facts!!!😤Carry four years matter for head,” he said. @Vigiethelastborn urged the underfire crooner to consider professionals when taking advice via a tweet.

“Today Holy Ten must know that…you should never take career advice from your girlfriend and your fashion designer.”

It is now up to Holy Ten to take this advice or trash it and await what comes ahead in his music career. Nhau/Indaba
