Muskwe powers Leicester to last 16

By Ray Munyoro

Zimbabwe international forward Admiral Muskwe scored a brace as Leicester City’s developmental side came from behind to force a 3-3 draw against Sailford City in the English Football League Trophy to progress to the last sixteen 6-5 on penalties on Tuesday.
The Warriors striker received praises from the club in a report on their website describing his goals as “superbly taken”.
“Admiral Muskwe was a constant threat in the second half and could have had more than two goals to his name, had it not been for the heroics of Hladcky.
“But the two he did find the back of the net with were both superbly taken, getting his side right back into the game,” reported Leicester.
The thrilling end-to-end encounter at Peninsula Stadium saw City two goals down with Muskwe scoring twice to equalise.
The Foxes later trailed 3-2 after Muskwe’s goals but showed their recovery powers to take the game to penalties, where Jakub Stolarczyk was the hero, saving from Sam Fielding in sudden death to send City through.
City enjoyed large spells of possession in the opening exchanges but went to the break trailing by a goal.
In the second half, Admiral Muskwe came close when he got behind the Salford defence only for his effort to hit the side netting from a tight angle.
They were made to pay for wasting chances as the hosts doubled the lead afterwards.
However, Muskwe rose to the occasion and gave City a lifeline when he reduced the deficit in the 64th minute.
The Zimbabwean, who also netted against Chelsea on Friday, scored his second in five minutes to level up the tie.
Salford restored their lead moments after but Leicester forced a draw with seven minutes to play.
Muskwe was also involved in the shootout and scored to finish off a good night and ensure his team progresses. Nhau/Indaba
