Newly-Born Baby Boy Found Dead In Trash Can At Eastgate

A cleaner at Harare’s Eastgate Mall, Thursday morning discovered a newborn-baby boy dumped in one of the trash cans while cleaning up the complex, Nhau/Indaba heard.

Alouis Fombe told The Herald he noticed a reddish liquid leaking at the bottom of a waste bin which he considered as red wine.

Upon further scrutiny, while scrubbing the stains from the floor, he noticed the body’s feet and realised that the red liquid was actually blood.

The baby’s body was in a plastic bag and its skin complexion had turned pale, leading him to raise the alarm before his work colleagues alerted police details at Harare Central Police Station. Nhau/Indaba
