As usual, there are a variety of gigs lined up across the country this weekend with fortune favouring hip-hop lovers, who are in for a treat as The Boss Rick Ross has finally touched down in Harare.
Rick Ross Storms Harare
The biggest gig hip-hop fans and music lovers in general have been waiting for is now just a few hours away. All roads lead to the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) where multi-Grammy Award winner and hip-hop supremo Rick Ross real name William Leonard Roberts II stages his maiden performance in Zimbabwe.
The main stage will feature King Her, Holy Ten, Madeherbelieve, Takura, Rimo, Nasty C, Nutty O, and Rick Ross.
It will be a Red Carpet affair with talented artists that include Kikki Badass, Saintflow, Ace Forever, Hillzy, Saintflow and Raydizz.
Roar Entertainment in association with Betterbrand Petroleum, will be running the show in what promises to be a memorable gig.
Admission is US$35 for general tickets, US$150 for VIP, and $3000 for Silver Table.
Baba Sharo At Whitehouse
Sungura ace Alick Macheso and the Orchestra Mberikwazvo perform at Makuluwani Bar supported by Flamboyant musician Carlos Green and the VMV Band from 8pm till late. Guzzlers will purchase beer at pump price. Admission: Cover Charge.
On Saturday Baba Sharo will invade the mining town of Shamva where he will host a show at Tipaz Bar.
Suluman Chimbetu @ Bar Rouge
Dendera crooner, Sulu, kicks off the weekend in Harare at Bar Rouge Restaurant tonight where he will be supported by Jabavu Drive. Admission $10.
He will wrap up his weekend schedule at Mushandirapamwe Hotel in Highfield as the iconic hotel celebrates its 50th Anniversary. Sulu will be supported by folk and traditional music singer Amadhuve Sasha with her band, the Madhuve Legacy. Admission: $10
Dhuku Affair
Emagumeni Helensvale is the place to be on Saturday as DJ Fafi, Miss Andy, and DJ Naida are set to thrill fans at a philanthropic gig dubbed the ‘Dhuku Affair’ to raise sanitary ware, toiletries and diapers for the less privileged. Admission is $5.
Freeman & Killer T In Bulawayo
This weekend Zim dancehall superstar Freeman will be rocking Bulawayo with his latest offering “David and Goliath” supported by fellow chanter Killer T and the Hot Property Band. The tour begins with a performance at the Boundary Bar tonight.
Tomorrow the duo will serenade guests at Mbumez Wabantu Centre in Victoria Falls and finish off the weekend in Hwange on Sunday at Wankie Colliery Club. Admission: $5 and VIP $10.
Baba Harare @ Big Apple
On fire jiti musician Baba Harare tonight offers his multitude of fans a live experience of his latest offering ‘Zimbabwean Giant’ with a performance at Big Apple (Mbuya Nehanda and Nelson Mandela) in Harare.
Fiesta Fiesta
Who is ready for a fiesta? This Saturday all roads lead to Alex Sports Club where hip-hop singer Takura performs alongside Raydizz, Chucknosis, Fujee, DJ Zulu, MadeHerBelieve and Ace Forever at a gig dubbed ‘hip-hop is Alive Volume 1’. Entry: $5 before 3pm, $10 after 3pm and $20 for VIP.
Varsity Shutdown
Tonight hip-hop singer Voltz JT is set to perform at Midlands Hotel in Gweru where Midlands State University students are set to throng. Supporting acts will include comedian Cody Rank Marshall and DJ Rudeng.
MashUp Friday
Mash it up tonight at Mashwede Village where an array of activities are set to get funlovers going. Lots of booze, special braai meat and platters will be available to make the night worthwhile.
Freaky Friday
Get freaky tonight with DJ Joe Mentro, Sexy Fusion, DJ Sky and many more from 11am till late at Private Lounge (11 Harare Street next to Holly’s Hotel).
Mid Month Gig Guide
Flavour Bar hosts dancers Gonyeti and the Trailers tonight.
Tomorrow Thandie and the Dynamites group will also perform at Flavour Bar opposite Roadport in Harare.
