As the winter season announces its arrival, Zimbabwe’s entertainers keep the heat on with many of them staging huge shows to keep merrymakers hooked on.

It is yet another weekend loaded with a variety of gigs to shake off that stress from a hectic week. Here is what to expect countrywide:

Busy Weekend For Jah Prayzah
Tonight all roads lead to Old Hararians Sports Club as Zimbabwe’s multi-award-winning contemporary musician Mukudzei “Jah Prayzah” Mukombe and 3 G Band release the much-anticipated ‘Chiremerera’ album, which is reported to have a number traditional hits. Local musicians including songstress Feli Nandi, jiti hitmaker Baba Harare, talented musical group Mokoomba, top MC Abisha Palmer and other DJs will support JP acts at the launch.

After releasing ‘Chiremerera’, the Dangerous hit-maker heads to Bulawayo for another launch of an album titled “Maita Baba” tomorrow at Queens Sports Club. South Africa-based songbird Shasha, DJ Tira and Nomfundo Moh will be part of the fiesta as supporting acts alongside Ma9Nine, Asaph, Mzoe 7, DJ Nospa, Msiz’kay and many more. Admission: $10 and VIP:$20.

Macheso In Chirundu, Karoi
After his regional tour in Botswana and South Africa, sungura ace Alick “Baba Shero” Macheso and Orchestra Mberikwazvo return home to descend on the border town of Chirundu tonight at Off-road Nite Club.

Tomorrow Macheso neBand Revanhu will be in Karoi mesmerising fans with their sungura hits at As-You-Like-It Nite Club.

Mother’s Day Zumbathon
As the nation celebrates Mother’s day, join talented Zim dancehall artist, Enzo Ishall as a guest artist at Invictus Fitness Centre at Westgate Shopping centre for a “Mother’s Day Zumbathon”. He will be joined by fitness trainer Zorro, Marlon and Kuda the choreographer from 6am to 8am. The event will be hosted at 1st floor Fountain Court. Admission: Free for members and $5 for non-members.

Sulu Chimbetu @ Cresta Oasis Hotel
Dendera kingpin Suluman Chimbetu and the Orchestra Dendera Kings light up Cresta Oasis Hotel tonight from 7pm till midnight. Admission:$10.

Freeman In Kwekwe
There is going to be a hive of activity in the City of Gold this weekend as dancehall star Freeman pulls up for a show tomorrow at Gulez Beer Gardens. Don’t miss out.

On Sunday football lovers are in for treat as Freeman trades the microphone for football boots when his Gallis FC clashes with Newcastle FC at Baghdad Stadium. Magallis in Midlands are all invited!

Andy Muridzo In Chivhu
Talented musician Andy Muridzo and Jeetaz Band showcase their talent at Diro Meeting Place tonight supported by Uncle Yutman and Flavour. Admission: Cover Charge.

Killer T & Andy Muridzo
Tomorrow, contemporary artist Andy Muridzo clashes with talented dancehall chanter Killer T and the Hot Property Band for an explosive jam session in Chitungwiza at Tanza Centre. Their show is likely to pull huge crowds. Admission:$5.

Progress Chipfumo @ Kulez Bar
Sungura musician Progress Chipfumo and the Sounds of the Motherland stage a show tonight in downtown Harare (Cnr Charter & Harare Street) from 6pm till late.

Tomorrow the band performs at Little London at Kuwadzana 4 shops for “Memo’s Birthday Bash” alongside DJ Ronnie and DJ Simpac from 8pm till late.

Mbeu @ Emagumeni
Afro-fusion singer Mbeu and the Mhodzi Tribe band serenade fans tomorrow at Helensvale Shopping Centre from 5pm till late. The singer promises to take fans through his musical journey, “kwazvakatangira”. Admission is free.

Holy Ten & Leo Magozz In SA
Hip hop lovers are in for a treat tonight as Holy Ten joins Fire Emoji singer Leo Magozz and Buffalo Souljah at Funk BA in South Africa.

Tomorrow Holy Ten performs at Sensations Restaurant in Johannesburg.

This Sunday the hip hop star winds up his weekend at 33 Binders Street in Cap Town.

Jean Masters @ Players Night Club
Catch songbird Jean Masters and the Masters band live tonight at Corner Second Street from 6pm till late.
