The weekend is upon us – and as usual, it is packed with events while some of Zimbabwe’s top artists are globetrotting, showcasing local music in all its forms.

This weekend’s package is as follows:

Straight Outta Africa23
Music lovers in the United Kingdom take time to chill at yet another African classic gig! Catch up with Congolese soukous musician Awilo Longomba, Zimbabwe’s Andy Muridzo, Shinsoman, Stunner, South African stars Kamo Mphela, Pholoso Masombuka aka Toss and DJ 2Wobunnies at The Corah Suite, Leicester tomorrow from 7pm to 3am for a massive Straight Outta Africa gig.

Zimbabwe Cup Clash UK
Zim dancehall stars McDonald Sheldon aka Qounfuzed, Collet B “Bazooka” Wahita, and Tavonga Leo “Leo Magozz” Magombedze alongside South African Afro-Pop duo Ndumiso Mdletshe and Sphelele Dunywa known as Blaq Diamond headline the Zimbabwe Cup Clash UK to be held at Palm Beach (3 Commercial Way, Wellingborough) this Saturday.

Tight Schedule For Macheso
Sungura lovers in Mutoko are in for an epic Friday as Alick Macheso and Orchestra Mberikwazvo electrify Mutoko upon return from a stint in the United Kingdom last weekend. Do not miss the sungura ace as he serenades fans at Nyamakwere Lodges together with his band from 8pm. He will be joined by sungura artist Sugar Sugar and Samaita Express. Admission: $5

Tomorrow, the sungura king back to back will storm Club Changaz in Centenary alongside Sugar Sugar. Admission:$5

After his performance in Mashonaland Central, Macheso heads back to Harare where he will thrill fans at Steak House, 3/29 St George Street, Ardbennie (after Trade Centre) from 2pm till late. He will be joined by Afro-fusion singer, Amadhuve Sasha thus winding up the weekend on Sunday. Admission: $5

Sulu Birthday Celebrations
Suluman Chimbetu and the Orchestra Dendera Kings are back from the United Kingdom and will be rocking City Bowling Club, Harare Gardens tonight.

Tomorrow, a big bash awaits Dendera lovers as Sulu celebrates his birthday in style with a show promising fireworks at Mushandirapamwe Hotel in Machipisa, Highfield alongside Amadhuve Sasha from 8pm till late. Admission: $5

Enzo Ishall In SA
Zim dancehall lovers in South Africa are in for a treat this weekend as Enzo Ishall lights up Funk BA tonight.

This Sunday Enzo Ishall performs at Club Africa Benoni.

Jazz & Soul Fest @ Sherwood Golf Club
Jazz and Soul lovers in Harare are promised a Friday with a difference as Ashton Mbeu Nyahora and the Mhodzi Tribe Band back to-back with Victor Kunonga and Xtra Mile serenade fans from 6pm to 11:30pm. This is one place your presence should not be missed if you are into jazz and soul music. Admission: $10

This Saturday Selmor Mtukudzi, Jeys Marabini, Xtra Mile, and Benari Note showcase their talents and are set to perform from 2pm to 11:45pm. Admission: $10

Winding up the festival this Sunday, Diana Samkange, Louis Mhlanga from South Africa, Wa Chari from Mutare, and Black Site promise a stellar performance from 2pm to 10pm. Admission:$10

Fiesta Fiesta
Make a date with friends and family tomorrow at Fiesta Fiesta. The gig will be graced by South African rapper Sir Trill, supported by Zim dancehall chanter Dadza D at Longcheng Plaza Park. Be an early bird as there is no entry after 5pm. Admission: $10 and VIP: $30.

Killer T In Greencroft
Zim dancehall singer Killer T and Hot Property Band will perform tonight at Maybach Sports Bar alongside Zoey and the Red Angels from 7pm till late. Admission: $5

Tomorrow Killer T stages an Africa Day show at Vital Lounge in scenic Shurugwi from 5pm till late. Admission: $5

Tocky Vibes In Goromonzi
Popular Zim dancehall chanter Obey “Tocky Vibes” Makamure offers his multitude of fans a live performance tonight at Parirewa High School from 3pm till late. Free Entry.

Pressure Masquerade Party
Party lovers, hang out with hip hop singer, Holy Ten and dancehall star Templeman, the Groove Band, DJ Fidel, and many more DJs as they thrill fans tomorrow at Gulez Gardens in Kwekwe. Admission: $5 and VIP: $10.

Diana Samkange @ Londoners Bar
Jazz and soul fans are in for a spin tonight as Diana Samkange performs at Londoners Public House and Bottle Store in Avondale. Admission: $5 for car parking
