This weekend marks the beginning of the second half of the year 2023. As the days go by, Zimbabwe’s musicians are now at their peak with merrymakers and night enthusiasts across the country in for splendid performances.Here is a rundown of what is lined up:

Music Galore At Winter Warmer Family Bash

Brush off the chilly nights this weekend by making a date with your favourite artist at this year’s Winter Warmer Family Bash where the cold weather will be jacketed with warmth from good vibes and drinks at your disposal.

Sungura ace Alick Macheso and Orchestra Mberikwazvo Band, gospel stars Mathias Mhere and Dorcas Moyo, rhumba maestro Diamond Musica, dancehall chanters Silent Killer, Merciless Zim and DJ Tanaman will rock Harare Gardens this Sunday from 10am to 11pm. Mix up and have a joyful time with your family. Ordinary Tickets: $7, Kids:$3 and VIP: $20.

Baba Sharo, Soma In Chegutu

Alick Macheso will begin his weekend entertainment spree in Chegutu tomorrow with a live show alongside fellow sungura singer Somandla Ndebele at Gatsi Sports Bar (Forit Shops) from 8pm till late. Admission:$5

Jah Prayzah, Baba Harare Clash @Winter Warmer Concert

Music lovers in Ruwa are in for a good spin this Saturday as contemporary music star Jah Prayzah and jiti singer Baba Harare headline the Winter Warmer Concert set to be held at Mutangaz Hide-out alongside celebrity dancer-cum-comedian Apama Style from 6pm till late. Admission: Cover Charge.

63rd VIP DRC Independence Celebration

Dendera King Suluman Chimbetu and the Orchestra Dendera Band kickstart their weekend in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) where they will be part of some of Africa’s finest artists to celebrate the country’s 63rd Independence celebrations.

The gig dubbed “63rd VIP DRC Independence Celebration” will see Sulu sharing the stage with DRC’s rhumba star Kaninda Dhodi of the Lubumbashi supported by Zimbabwean rhumba outfit Diamond Musica, Shaka Zulu and DJ Ben at Rainbow Towers. Ruffa Sulutanie of the Real Sounds of Africa will be a guest artist from 6pm till late.

Tomorrow, Dendera crooner, Suluman and his Band will land back into the country to light up Goromonzi’s at Brace Nite Club from 8pm till late. Admission: $5.

Nicholas Zakaria In Chivi, Mashava

Veteran sungura artist Nicholas “Madzibaba” Zakaria and the Khiama Boys will tonight pump up the jam at Huruyadzo Gardens, Chivi Growth Point. From 8pm till late. Admission: $5

Tomorrow, the ‘Senior Lecturer’ will perform live at Magwizi Nite Club in Mashava from 8pm till late. Admission: $5.

Mark Ngwazi @Kulez Bar, Mutare

High-riding sungura singer Mark Ngwazi and Njanja Express are back from the UK and they grace revellers in Harare tonight at Kulez Bar (Charter Road and Harare Street). Tomorrow he is set to serenade fans at Pagomba in Mutare from 8pm till late. Admission: Cover Charge.

Freeman In Dubai

Dancehall fans in Dubai warm up for an epic mix as Zim dancehall star Freeman “HKD Boss” brings down the curtain tomorrow at Golden Tulip Al Barsha with a gig dubbed “Madirirano Dubai” hosted by Bodyslam Boss Simba Chakare.

Enzo Ishall & Uncle Epatan In Shurugwi

Dancehall lovers in the scenic town of Shurugwi are in for a spin tonight as Enzo Ishall and Uncle Epatan rock Vital Lounge from 5pm till late supported by local artists.

Buddie Beats Party Victoria Falls

This Saturday the resort town of Victoria Falls will be ablaze as South African DJ Prince Kaybee clashes with Enzo Ishall, DJ Kingher, Judgement Yard and Reverb7 to perform at the Buddie Beatz Party slated for Baobab Primary School from 6pm till late. Free Entry.

Killer T, Trevor Dongo, Boi Shona, Merciless Zim Storm Troyka Leisure Centre

A new joint is opening up in Glen View and all ghetto youths are in for a bash tonight as dancehall chanter Killer T, Afrobeats stars Trevor Dongo and Boi Shona alongside Power Fm DJ Merciless Zim light up the official opening of Troyka Leisure Centre in Glenview Area 8. Don’t miss out on their live performance.

Andy Muridzo @Sherwood Golf Club, Steak House

Join talented contemporary musician, Andy Muridzo and Jeetaz Band as they storm Sherwood Golf Club tonight from 7pm till 12 midnight. Admission: $5/car.

Andy, Killer T At Steak House

Tomorrow, Andy Muridzo back to back with dancehall chanter Killer T and the Hot Property Band thrill fans at a show dubbed “Winter Barbercue” to be held at Steak House (After Trade Centre in Waterfalls) from 6pm till late. Admission:$5.

Progress Chipfumo In Jerera, Chiredzi & Chivhu

It’s a busy weekend for Progress Chipfumo and Sounds of the Motherland as they showcase their talents tonight at Matuda Night Club in Jerera, Masvingo from 8pm till late. Admission:$4 before 4pm. Be an early bird.

Tomorrow, the band will perfom live at Zimbabwe’s biggest beerhall, Chigarapasi in Chiredzi from 8pm till late. Admission: $5

On Sunday, ‘Proggy’ winds up the weekend with a family show at Chivhu Hotel from 3pm till late. Admission for adults:$4 and $2 for Kids.

Leads Night Of Worship With Takesure Zamar

Saints in the UK gather in Birmingham tonight and worship together with gospel stars Takesure Zamar, Nyasha Mutonhori, Rudo Marembo and others.Tomorrow, gospel lovers camp at 20 Shannon Street Leeds from 6pm to 10pm with their final performance in Liverpool on Sunday. Don’t be left out.
