It is Friday the 13th and the nation is in mourning following the painful and untimely death of Afropop prodigy Garry Mapanzure. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Apart from this sad development that has gripped the nation, this weekend will be full of fun and pomp in the entertainment arena with massive gigs from our talented musicians dotted around the country and abroad amid the scorching October heat.

Fireworks @ Kadoma Odyssey Hotel

The mining town of Kadoma will be ablaze tomorrow as music lovers await the clash of Zimbabwe’s music titans billed to serenade fans at the annual Kadoma Music Festival from 3pm till late. Local music heavyweights including dancehall king Winky D, contemporary music virtuoso Jah Prayzah, and sungura ace Alick Macheso will electrify the atmosphere supported by South Africa’s Amapiano great Makhadzi and DJ Tira. Fiesta Fiesta With Cassper Nyovest

Alex Sports Club in Harare will be a hive of activity tomorrow as South African hitmaker Cassper Nyovest, Bling 4, and Nasty C say “Lets Rock The City”, a performance promising fireworks for many a fan. Admission: Phase 1 $15, Phase 2 $20, Phase 3 $30. VIP $50, VVIP $100. Gates open at 12pm.

Harare Shutdown

The gig of the moment that ghetto youths have been looking forward to is finally here. In a few hours, Mbare Netball Complex will be a blast as the country’s talented musicians from all genres do what they know best.

Contemporary award-winning artist Jah Prayzah, dendera crooner Suluman Chimbetu, dancehall chanters Freeman, Silent Killer the Chillspot family, Cello Culture and Mr. Brown all the way from South Africa will be live on stage serenading their fans with their hits till dawn. Admission: $10, VIP $20 and VVIP $50 from 4pm.

Africa Business Seminar, Mr & Mrs Albinism

Fans of Willom Tight and Dino Mudondo are in for a treat tonight at The Harare Club Hotel where the two talented entertainers will serenade the night with their vibes at the Africa Business Awards running under the theme “Africa-One Identity”.The dress code will be exclusive African attire from 6pm.

After enthralling fans, Dino and Tight have another feat on Saturday with another epic performance at the Mr and Miss Albinism pageant slated for the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) tomorrow. The event starts at 5pm and admission is as follows: General $10, VIP $35 and VVIP $50.

Apostolic Gathering

This Sunday will be thrilling for all gospel music enthusiasts as an epic night event is on the cards headlined by the country’s greatest artists. Everton Mlalazi, Janet Manyowa, Jonah Chivasa, Kuda Mutsvene, Bridget Ndanga, Tembalami Praise, Joyfull Praise, Sir Benjamin Rupapa, and Vocal Ex make up the stellar cats.

The general public has a free entry bonus, $10 for reserved Balcony seats, VIP $20 downstairs side seating and $50 for VVIP in the Golden Circle.

Food & Music @ Trade Fair Grounds

There will be music and food galore at Bulawayo’s Trade Fair grounds this Saturday as soul, RNB, and jazz musicians light up the “Soul Cookout”. Jeys Marabini headlines the event alongside Kinah The Music, Thandy Dlana, Possenti Sikhosana, Morris Touch and Flawless. Admission is free.

Chibuku Road To Fame National Finals

Traditional music lovers are in for a treat this Saturday as finalists of the Chibuku Road To Fame battle it out at Takashinga Cricket Club, in Highfield. A lot of blistering performances are on the cards with artists including Alick Macheso, Tocky Vibes, Feli Nandi, Chillspot Family, Jah Master, Ndunge Yut, Pumacul, Bazooker, Grade 2D Band and many others billed to perform. Sulu, Carlos Green @Bar Rouge

After enticing fans in Mbare with his hits on Friday night, Suluman heads to Bar Rouge, Longcheng Plaza in Harare on Saturday where he will perform live backed by Carlos Green and the VMV Band, a gig dubbed “Groovy Saturday” from 8pm till late. Admission $10, VIP $20.

Diana Samkange Rocks Palm Trees

Music sensation Diana Samkange is offering a free session at Palm Trees Pub & Grill (KwaPartson) this Saturday from 5pm till late. Live music, food and drink will keep the house on fire.

Killer T Invades Poland, Germany

“Takangodaro” hitmaker Killer T will be entertaining fans in Poland tonight at Capital Club from 10.30pm till late. Admission 120 REG for early birds, VIP 160 PLN and 200PLN for VVIP.

Tomorrow he will be in Germany for gigs at Afro Heist and 263 Junction. A table for four will cost €1010.

Kumagitare NaProggie

Free-spirited musician Progress Chipfumo has a date with his fans in Kadoma tonight at Macsherp Bar starting alongside Wasu Dacoda and Fidza Matsveru from 4pm till late. He will be back at the same joint on Sunday concluding his weekend performance.

Tomorrow he takes a short road trip to Chegutu where he will perform live at Messina Bar from 4pm till late.

Andy Muridzo @ The Odyssey

Talented contemporary music sensation, Andy Muridzo will blast Kadoma’s Odyssey Hotel tonight with a “Welcome Party” alongside Bling 4. Admission free.

Trevor Dondo Serenades Glass Bar & Grill

Urban grooves music lovers are in for a treat on Saturday as Trevor Dongo promises fireworks at Glass Bar & Grill in Norton with a gig dubbed Summer Turn Up. He will be backed by Bishop Mockery and Mighty Kili from 6pm. Admission $5.

Mwenje Mutole @ The Jam Tree

Jazz lovers across Samora Machel camp at The Jam Tree in Mount Pleasant on Sunday from 1pm where sensational Mwenje Mutole is set to rock the house. Free entry!

Brent Birckhead @ ZAM Bulawayo

Award-winning American saxophonist Brent Birckhead will be at his best this evening with a session at the Zimbabwe Academy of Music in Hillside, Bulawayo from 6pm-9pm. The session will be free of charge.

Tildah Live In Cape Town

Tete Tildah Moyo takes her Talk Show to network with fans in Cape Town this Saturday where a Family Fun Day will be hosted at Hamilton Rugby Club from 12pm to 6pm. She will be alongside MC Sungano Mwarumba while DJ Tshisa Boy and singer Ano Soul Singer will be featuring.

Frenzy Friday @Club Zone

It will be a hot dancehall affair at Club Zone tonight as Jah Master, Silent Killer “Ngwere”, Poptain and Smoothflow take turns to thrill fans. Their act will be supported by DJs Koasta, Stapleton, Masnando and Handsome Gudo from 6pm till you drop.

This and every Friday Amadhuve Sasha and the Madhuve Legacy Band will be at Pattis shops in Southerton giving you that mbira vibe you might be craving for.

On Saturday the entertainers will host “Mbira Nite Live” at Club Empire Makomva shops in Glen View tomorrow and finish off the weekend with a gig at Zindoga Shops, PaMukanya on Sunday from 6pm.
