Nutty O’s Purple Patch

High-Flying Zim dancehall artist, Nutty O, is a name that is getting tongues in Europe.

His latest single Makanonoka was featured on BBC 1 Extra and Nutty O has truly taken the phrase “dream big African child” to a whole other level.

His creativity and innovation have seen Nutty O receive numerous international invitations and recognition from big publications.

Nutty O has come a long way since he first started honing his microphone skills as a young man growing up in the streets of Mbare.

The chanter said he has truly found his voice, and the musical world is listening.

The young ghetto boy from Mbare has been raising the bar in the entertainment circles for the past couple of years.

Nutty is making waves in Zambia following his continental drive, taking his music across Africa.

In 2019, Nutty O featured on Jamaica’s reggae songstress Etana titled ‘No Money No Love,’ which was on the Reggae Forever album.

The album jumped to number one on the Reggae Worldwide Billboard as well as number one on the iTunes World Wide Reggae Top 200.

The Reggae Forever Album was also nominated as the Best Reggae Album at the Grammy Awards.

“I was honoured to be part of the project as the only African and it got a Grammy nomination,” he said.

Nutty O hinted on a couple of collaborations with the Zambian artists like Natasha Chansa and Roberto.

Nutty O boasts of a number of hit songs including Boom Shelele, Mo Salah and Jehovah Musatisiye, whose influence and creation came through Mbare’s Chillspot Records. H-Metro
