Only A Vasectomy Will Stop Me: Temba Mliswa

Super dad says he wants to marry again, have more kids

Daphnne Nyakanyanga Features Editor Temba Mliswa is not ruling out getting married again and having more kids.

He already has 20 children, 5 boys and 15 girls with different women but is not sure if he has finished growing his brood.

The Zambian-born politician shares his first two daughters, Alexandra and Farai, with ex-wife Gracious Mabodza. He shares his latest ‘project’ with Australian-based health practitioner and philanthropist Susan Mutami.

In an interview with Nhau/Indaba last week, Mliswa addressed the possibility of marrying again and having the 21st child which he might consider in a couple of months.

The outspoken independent MP said a vasectomy is among his options if he is to stop having more children, but he would like to marry a woman that he would have a child with, and could be the last. “I’m planning to have a vasectomy in the next couple of months and so forth. I also want to marry. I would like to marry a woman that I will probably have a child with,” he said.

“And two could be the last. I love the odd numbers. If its 21 that’s it, if I go to 22 I will be forced to finish at 23. If you go to 24 then you are forced to finish at 25. So 21 will be good enough.”

Mliswa said his children were all planned and there are no regrets, neither are there any things he wishes he had done better as a father. “What I have right now is perfect. It’s what I wanted, I can’t ask for anything better than that,” he said.

This is not the first time the businessman has considered marrying again. Last year on his birthday in September, he revealed he was ready for marriage in a tweet which sparked massive debate on social media. “I respect the institution of marriage and would like to get into it in the right frame of mind so that I don’t cheat as many are doing. Now at 50 I think I’m ready.” Nhau/Indaba
