Peerless Janet Manyowa unleashes scorcher

By Tawanda Matanhire

Gospel songbird Janet Manyowa yesterday took her art to another level when she released an EP entitled Sound of Victory.
It carries six songs and it was accompanied by a top-notch music video for, Many Blessings, which was screened for the first time at the glitzy event held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
A few VVIPs watched the event live while others watched on Gateway Stream Music, a pay per view channel.
Speaking at the event, the Zadzisa hitmaker told the audience that Many Blessings is an appreciation of the many blessings that God abundantly bestowed on her.

“God has done so much in my life and I take this opportunity to give gratitude for all the things he has done for me, Manyowa said.
“My life is a testimony of serving God, he has allowed me to witness so many good things and experience a life of victory and I see things from a point of advantage,” she said.
Manyowa gave an inspired performance of songs off her previous albums like Nyasha Nengoni, Ngatimukudzei and new songs from the EP such as Oh Mwari.
Many Blessings showcases Manyowa’s prowess and vocal ability, which has made her a force to reckon with on the gospel music scene. The video is available on Manyowa’s YouTube Channel.
Among the performances at the colourful event was Nceku, who left many in stitches with sterling jokes, Jose Sax and Josh Mtima who left the stage mesmerised with an uplifting worship set.
The colourful event saw a number of artists including Albert Nyati, producer Mcdonald Chidavayenzi and Fungai “Gospel DJ” Kampira in attendance.

Manyowa’s husband, who is also her manager, Munyaradzi, said Sounds of Victory would lead to a full-length album entitled Victory, which is set for release on May 1, 2021.
Manyowa began her professional musical journey in 2014 when she recorded her first single, Amazing God, with Dr Comfort Manyame. So huge was the reception of Amazing God that she later released Ndomira Pamuri and then the album King of Glory.
Her singles and videos have topped the charts on the local gospel scene. Manyowa wrote her first song, Mubatsiri, at the age of 13. Her last album, Grateful, was released back in October 2018 at a packed concert held at the Celebration Centre in Harare. Nhau/Indaba
