Police Arrest ZLHR Communications Officer

Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) Communications Officer and freelance journalist Kumbirayi Mafunda has been arrested by members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Nhau has learnt.

Mafunda is alleged to have been arrested together with three Zinasu students.

ZLHR director Roselyn Hanzi confirmed through micro-blogging site Twitter.

“Very disturbed and appalled that Police have arrested our Communications Officer Kumbirai Mafunda who is a registered freelance journalist. He was at Rotten Row court (Harare Magistrates Court) covering our cases,” she said.

Details surrounding the charges they are likely to face are yet to be revealed.
