Promoter Impressed By Killer T Canada Gig

ZIMDANCEHALL artist, Killer T, has been praised by promoter Tinos ‘Slicey T’ Viriri for a recent tour of Canada that saw him stage four successful shows. 

Two of the gigs were held in Toronto, with one held in both Edmonton and Montreal. 

Slicey T, who has helped promote the careers of Thomas Mapfumo, Mafikizolo, Oliver Mtukudzi and Jah Prayzah, hailed Killer T’s performances for their professionalism and maturity. 

Killer T has been touring extensively recently, with this Canadian series following concerts around the world.

Speaking to H-Metro from Canada, Slicey T believes Killer T has matured with age.

“Killer T put up a five-star performance in Canada. He came ready and knew his task and executed it well.

“Killer T gave a dosage of what Zimbabweans here needed at this time,” he said.

“He kicked off his tour well in Edmonton with a massive turn out with a mixed age group, which included elderly people who wanted to catch a glimpse of the chanter.

“His performance at the Afrofest was electric, as he left fans not knowing what had hit them with a marathon performance paving the way for the after party.”

In a separate interview, Killer T, who has a big schedule ahead, hailed the promoters and Afrofest organisers for putting together a massive show.

“The response was good as it was my first time there. I had a nice time in Canada where I staged four shows to be specific.

“On my return, I will make a stopover in South Africa where I will perform on Friday. On Saturday, I will hold another gig in Chegutu,” he said.

His Canadian tour comes at a time when most Zimbabweans are holding shows in the north American country.

Slicey T, who has settled well in Canada, had been longing to host Killer T over the years.

He, however, urged local musicians to be authentic like Tuku if they are to make an impression on the international scene.

Slicey T believes Killer T is one of the youthful icons who are evolving with each project, which has made him a favourite of many promoters. H-Metro
