TINO, YOU BEAUTY

. . . now best player in Ligue 1

. . . gets Benzema attention

Zimbabwe international, Tino Kadewere, continues to raise the country’s flag high after he dominated world sports news once again.
The 25-year-old returned to scoring ways after grabbing a brace in Lyon’s 5-0 thrashing St-Etienne Sunday night.
Kadewere, who had endured a three-match barren run in front of goal, gave Lyon the lead in the 16th minute shooting from close range.
The Zimbabwean got his second in the 67th minute with other goals coming from Marcelo and an own goal to seal a comfortable win.
His performance saw him becoming the highest performing player in Ligue 1 this season, with an average rating of 6.07 out of 10, according to Get French Football News.
The victory saw Les Gones reducing the gap at the top of the standings to two points, with PSG and Lille joint top on 45 points.
Going into the match, Kadewere had received a message of encouragement from Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.
The gesture by Benzema has seen Zimbabweans ‘taking over’ social media streets describing it as an endorsement for Kadewere.
“Lyonnais tonight you can make a whole city proud and happy, we are all behind you! And Tino keep making your dreams come true! #ASSEOL#TeamOL#Derby,” tweeted Benzema before the game.
And reacting to the message from Benzema after the game, Kadewere said he could have scored more goals if he had seen the message before.
“I don’t have Twitter, it’s a shame because if I had seen his message I would have scored more goals,” said Kadewere.
“He’s a huge player and an honour. Playing with him at Lyon or Madrid? It doesn’t matter. Playing with him would be an honour.”
On the victory, he said: “We are very happy. I’m happy to have scored this double. This victory is for our supporters. This will propel us through to the end of the season. You build up trust.” Nhau/Indaba
