Victoria Falls Carnival Sets Weekend Ablaze

All roads lead to the resort city of Victoria Falls this weekend where an ecstatic atmosphere is expected as the biggest and much-awaited entertainment carnival on the country’s calendar roars to life on Friday.

Stretching until Sunday, the 11th edition of the Victoria Falls Carnival will see a star-studded line-up of both local and international musicians turning the city into a massive fiesta with their stellar performances.

To make the experience of entertainment lovers unique, the carnival will be held in both Zimbabwe and Zambia.

In Zimbabwe, the main performances will be showcased at the Elephant Hills Resort while the Radisson Blu Mosi-Oa-Tunya, Livingstone Resort is set to be the main arena for the epic show in Zambia.

Vic Falls Carnival festival director Craig Bright told 263culture that the fiesta will be a wonder that noone has ever seen in the country and they have been working diligently to make the festival run smoothly.

“We are excited about this year’s edition and we are bringing a lot more sound, a lot more visuals and its going to be something no one has ever seen in Zimbabwe.We are bringing things that people have never seen before, they are going to have one incredible experience.”

“In terms of preparations, everything is running smoothly and we are very excited to open the doors for the 11th edition of the Vic Falls Carnival,” said Bright.

Organisers of the promising fiesta said tickets have sold out as entertainment fans scramble to get hold of the passes available for the three days.

Nigerian superstar CKay, South African house music duo, Black Motion, award-winning South African producer and songwriter Musa Makamu “Musa Keys”, Oskido, Mi Casa and South Africa’s multi-award-winning Afro-pop sensation Mafikizolo are some of the international artists set to serenade fans at the prestigious event.

Contemporary music maestro Jah Prayzah, Afro-soul sensation Tamy Moyo, dendera superstar Suluman Chimbetu and Zim dancehall chanter Enzo Ishall headline the carnival on the local scene.

Other artists include LKG, Toss, Mdoovar, 9umba, Anita Jaxson, Mac G & Sol, Top Cheri, Rimo, Han-C, Khoisan, Tashinga, Nitefreak, Just Drev, DJ Liz, Nospa, Nkosiminator, Renolife, Andrea the Vocalist, Doll Ya Mama, and Mtkayntwana (MC). Nhau/Indaba
