Zanu PF Warns Private Security Firms

Zanu PF has warned private security firms against wantonly discharging firearms costing the lives of innocent citizens or to promote unnecessary violence

This emerged during the party’s weekly press briefing held its headquarters and conducted by acting spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa.

The warning comes following the shooting incident that took place in Harare South last week resulting in the killing of one party youth.

“We want to make it very clear that Zimbabwe is not like any other country that is known to be a lawless gun-toting country. As such guns and bullets should not be used without sufficient cause because Zimbabwe is not a gun-toting community…We also warn private sector security players and individuals against this wantonness of playing with guns without sufficient provocation.”

“We reiterate the President’s call that those who are electing to be threats to peace will be dealt with by the law without fear or favour,” he said.

Chinamasa said that his party was shocked by the gruesome ritual murder of Tapiwa Makore in Murehwa, calling for all those involved in the incident to be dealt with and brought to book.

“No stone should be left unturned to investigate and bring to book all those implicated whether in the killing, or those who commissioned the killing for ritual purposes…Zanu Pf will be following this story closely with keen interest,” said Chinamasa. Nhau/Indaba
