Zim Dollar Depreciates Against USD

The Zimbabwe dollar on Tuesday depreciated against the United States dollar for the first time in a month after the conduction of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s (RBZ) foreign currency auction exchange rate.

The rate settled at 81.3499, a slight decrease from last week’s settlement at 81.3458.

Tuesday’s allocated amount reduced to US$27 057 595,85 for the main auction and US$ 1 740 633,79 for the SMEs forex exchange.

The total number of bids received in the main auction also decreased to 238 while those for the SME auction declined to 146 while 15 and 14 bids were respectively disqualified.

A grand total of US$28 798 229,64 was awarded for the two auctions. Nhau/Indaba
